I am Human. I am HIV Equal. We all go through something in our lives. Sometimes that something is good. Sometimes it’s not-so-good. But regardless of the emotions we place on that something, we have to appreciate life for what it is because of many reasons; one of those being that we learn from every experience.
Being HIV-negative is being human. Being HIV-positive is being human. No matter our status, and no matter the circumstances under which we acquire or do not acquire HIV, we are all human beings and we all gain something out of our unique lives. There are more important things to worry about, to focus on or to enjoy than our HIV status. I believe that life is beautiful, and it wouldn’t be as beautiful if you weren’t still a part of it.
So whenever you feel a little less than yourself, just remember three words to repeat out loud: I am Human.
